How Many Followers Do You Need to Make $1,000 a Month? (Calculator)

Set a monthly target, choose your income mix, and get a rough follower and view level with the formula shown.

Quick answer

There is no single number. At published rates, two $250 TikTok brand deals plus $100 affiliate leave $400 to earn from views: about 400,000 to 1 million qualified views a month. A $250 fee usually sits at the 10,000-follower micro tier; smaller accounts land smaller deals. Use the calculator for your own mix.

There is no single follower count that pays $1,000 a month. The number depends on how you earn: brand deals pay per post and scale with your tier, while TikTok's Creator Rewards pays per view. The calculator below turns your target and your income mix into a rough follower and view level, using published rate ranges. Run it first, then read the sections underneath for the reasoning.

Calculator: what level does your target need?

Pick a platform, set your monthly target, then fill in the mix you expect. Whatever your deals and affiliate income don't cover is converted into views.

Formula: gap = target − (deals × fee) − affiliate. Views needed per month = gap ÷ RPM × 1,000. Follower level = the tier whose published per-post range your fee falls in; a fee exactly on a boundary counts as the higher tier. This is a rough estimate, not a forecast.

Worked example: $1,000 on TikTok

Say you land 2 brand deals a month at $250 each and earn $100 from affiliate links. That is $600. The remaining $400 has to come from views.

A $250 TikTok fee sits in the micro tier ($200–$800), so you'd want about 10,000 followers, which is also the Creator Rewards minimum. Smaller accounts can still land smaller deals, but the maths gets harder. The takeaway: each extra $250 deal removes 250,000 to 625,000 views from what you need.

Rate ranges the calculator uses

These are the per-post ranges published by Influencer Marketing Hub. They are ranges, not promises: niche, engagement and usage rights all move the number. For setting your own price, use our paid post rate calculator.

TierInstagram, per postTikTok, per video
Nano (under 10K)$10–$100+$50–$200
Micro (10K–100K)$100–$500+$200–$800
Macro (100K–1M)$5,000–$10,000+$800–$5,000
Mega (1M+)$10,000+$5,000–$50,000+

Per-view income: Influencer Marketing Hub puts Creator Rewards at $0.40–$1.00 or more per 1,000 views, so a 1 million-view video lands around $400–$1,000.

The reality check: about half of creators earn under $15,000

The Influencer Marketing Hub creator earnings report says about half of creators earn under $15,000 a year: around 50% in 2025, up from 48% in 2023. So $1,000 a month ($12,000 a year) is still inside that group. Treat it as a good first target, and the $15,000 line as the next one.

Close to 1,000 but not there?

If the last stretch to the LIVE threshold is slow, SocFlare (socflare.com) lists TikTok followers from 100 for $3.49, with 500 for $9.99. Orders need only your public username. Treat it as social proof for people landing on your profile, not as income: brands and Creator Rewards look at authentic followers and real views.

A 7-step path to your first target

  1. Run the calculator with your honest deal count, not your hoped-for one.
  2. Reach 1,000 followers and turn on LIVE if you want gifts.
  3. Post videos of 1+ minute on TikTok if Creator Rewards is available in your country.
  4. Build a one-page media kit with your real view averages.
  5. Pitch 10 brands a week in your niche; aim for your first paid deal at the nano or micro rate above.
  6. Add affiliate links to every post that recommends something you use.
  7. Recalculate monthly and raise your fee when your views rise. See how to make money on TikTok and on Instagram for every method.
